All employees of  SRCC are paid wages that are above the legal minimum wage, competitive within the industry, comparable to the wages paid by the University for similar work and sufficient for employees to meet basic needs.  Furthermore, wages paid by SRCC are at the highest end of the spectrum within the industry.

SRCC provides a working environment that not only encourages but is conducive to employees taking advantage of all not only educational programs but additionally any culinary specific programs that will further enhance their education.  Work schedules are flexible inherently with catering especially and the ability to work within an employee’s availability is easily accommodated.   By working with an employee’s availability to achieve the desired amount of work and pay, the financial barrier to attaining education is diminished.   All employees are well trained and provided opportunities to shadow supervisors, floor managers, captains, etc to further facilitate promotions.

SRCC will not discriminate any person at any time on the basis of the individual’s reproductive or familial circumstances. SRCC also accommodates the language requirement of each employee.

SRCC treats each employee with dignity and respect.  Conflicts between employees are handled free of coercion and intimidation.  All employees are encouraged to voice their opinions or complaints and do so without threat of reprisal.  Not only in every employee manual is it listed with whom to schedule meetings with, there are also areas set up to make a written complaint or suggestion.   When necessary the employee is able to voice their concerns in their primary language with the assistance of an interpreter.  When complaints or grievances are made about another employee, every effort is made to conceal the complainant’s identity.
